Hi parents! My name is Joanna. I’m a mother of a toddler who comes with me when I babysit or nanny. I started babysitting many years ago for my 6 nieces and nephews ages 6months- 8 years old. I love children and consider it amazing to be able to spend time with them...and get paid for it! Being a mom is the best thing that has happened to me. I also understand how vulnerable it can make you feel. I understand how much you value your babies and want to keep them safe and nurtured. I’d love to extend the nurturing I give my own daughter with your babies until they are safely back in your arms again. I worked for 3 companies over the past decade that gave me relevant experience. I worked for PACESETTERS in McMinnville tn where I was providing in-home care to three adult males who had severe mental and physical disabilities. One of them was a 35-year old man with the mental capacity of a 2-year old. He would throw tantrums and he suffered from grand mal seizures. He was in adult diapers, was non-verbal and required complete care. He was also on narcotic medication so I was required to take a course in order to administer the regulated substance. I later worked as a bus driver for SETHRA. A government funded company that provides transportation for people in need. I took people to doctors appointments, and dialysis, as well as grocery shopping and bank errands. Some of them were in wheelchairs. After I moved here to Chattanooga three years ago I worked for GROOME TRANSPORTATION as a shuttle driver. I drove people to and from ATLANTA and NASHVILLE AIRPORTS. ALL THREE AGENCIES REQUIRE PRE-EMPLOYMENT BACKGROUND CHECKS. Two of them REQUIRED CPR AND FIRST AID CERTIFICATIONS AND PROVIDED ANNUAL REFRESHER COURSE. All of them required random drug testing.
