Hello I'm Rachel! I've always loved working with kids, from volunteering at church daycare, to youth groups, babysitting for family and friends, and I have had such a great experience working with the kiddos at different YMCA camps as a group lead and as an outdoor educator! I love helping wherever I can and was a housecleaner for years! I'm a Christian and I try model Christ's love for us through being gentle, kind, understanding, nurturing, and loving. I believe kids need calm and compassion in there lives from people who care to help them develope and feel confident in themselves! Kids are our worlds greatest joy, and to be apart of a child's life to make an impact of good is such a blessing. With all the quiet and calm there is a definite need and time to also just have fun! I love singing songs, playing games, and Read more laughing a lot! A happy heart creates a happy environment, and joyful laughter is the centerpiece! I also love to see what kids create! Children have the most amazing minds, they're simply the most creative beings, I play music and draw, and I think sharing hobbies of arts and crafts helps any child express emotions in a healthy way, as well as gives them a sense of accomplishment that will help them succeed in all aspects of their lives. I love pets and animals and have a handful of my own at home! One last thing I think makes an incredible impact on childrens lives is the appreciation and love for nature and the outdoors! Working as a outdoor educator has been such a treat to share all the beautiful things God crafted, to create a deeper love and understanding about the world around us with our future generation is a wonderful experience and I think it makes a bigger impact on kids than we know. I am also CPR, and first aid certified, and have had my food handlers permit. I've passed a background check to work at the Y. I own a smallish SUV if driving kids around is on the list as well.
