Hey ya’ll, I’m Bre!!! I am 37 years young and a professional nanny/babysitter with years of hands-on experience and three kids of my own who have trained me WELL. There is nothing, I mean NOTHING, I haven’t seen and survived (so far). I’ve mastered snack negotiations and bedtime routines, proudly become a bedtime-story voice actor, a Lego architect, and navigated the art of staying calm when the sh*t hits the fan (because at some point, the sh*t will hit the fan). I’m dependable, patient, and genuinely love helping children grow in a safe, positive environment—while giving parents peace of mind (and maybe a night off). I love keeping things fun and laughing as often as possible. Humor is important when taking care of kids because it’s more than just fun—it’s a powerful caregiving tool. I do not believe in corporal punishment of any kind personally. No judgement for those parents Read more who do choose to spank their children. If that works for you and your children, I fully support you, however, for me personally, I can’t bring myself to spank a child. I choose redirection and to use every moment possible to talk and teach. I will do timeout from time to time when appropriate. Not so much as punishment, more as an opportunity for the child as well as myself to have a quiet moment apart, take a breath, and come back together calmer and ready to move forward. In my home and with other children I work with we do a lot of deep breathing. We “smell the flowers, and blow out the candles” and it really works amazingly and teaches children a coping skill that they can use for the rest of their lives. I’m ALL ABOUT healthy coping skills and practicing and teaching emotional regulation. I believe children learn more by watching us so I always try to be self aware of what I do and say because when I’m with children, I always have an audience.
