Meet Alicia

I love being a sitter because I truly enjoy getting to know each child’s personality and helping them learn, feel safe, and have fun. Building trust with kids and their families is important to me, and I take pride in creating a calm, caring, and engaging environment where children can grow emotionally, socially, and academically. I have several years of experience working with children in both school and childcare settings. As a Reading Tutor with AmeriCorps at Notre Dame School of Milwaukee, I assess and monitor students’ reading skills, develop individualized reading plans, and work closely with parents and teachers to support each child’s progress. I focus on creating a positive, encouraging atmosphere and helping children build confidence in themselves. Previously, I worked as an Assistant Teacher at Dreamland Childcare for over two years. I led reading and art activities, maintained a clean and organized classroom, and communicated regularly with parents about their child’s day and progress.
