Hello! My name is Julie Bateman and I am 22 years old. I just graduated from NC State with a bachelor's degree in visual art studies, and though my degree is not in elementary education, I have been working with kids for several years as a babysitter, a mentor, and now currently as a teacher's assistant in a classroom of two-year-olds. I really love working with children, especially when it comes to building connections. I love getting to know their little personalities, seeing how their minds work, and being someone they can feel safe and understood around. My current classroom of 18 toddlers has taught me so much about routine and structure, but it has also reminded me just how much I value being fully present with individual children or a smaller groups.
