Hi there! I'm 54, I have raised 4 kiddos of my own and have helped raise many more. I have babysat, worked the church nursery, coached and been a peer counselor for many years. I work at a local municipal court and am currently getting my bachelor's degree. I do not enjoy being idle or being an empty nester. I am hoping that this will fill two needs. I would like to get out of the house more and since my grandbaby lives in North Dakota fulfill my grandma need! I have experience with infants up to high schoolers. The coaching program I ran was pre-K up to varsity. I was the director of that program, so chaos does not scare me. I can herd cats, redirect, and out stubborn the best of them. I even have extensive training with the most stubborn of red heads, as I was blessed Read more with one of my very own. ;) But seriously, I do miss the chaos more than I ever anticipated. Coaching was a full-time job on top of a full-time job. I gave it up to get my degree thinking I would not have time to do both. Bottom line... I miss the kids. I miss the toddlers running around with their baskets picking up balls, I miss the awkward middle schoolers who hated bathing, and I miss the high schoolers who pretended to hate my guts but now as adults stop by to visit to tell me that I made a difference in their lives. I miss the goofy things they would say, and their inherent drive to become good at the sport because they knew I believed in them. I honestly did not think I would miss any of it at the time I retired, and there are definitely some parts I do not. But the kids themselves, yep, I'm crazy! I miss them. I honestly believe it is because of the clientele I work with throughout the day in a court setting. Working with kids gives you a sense that you have better odds at changing their path for the positive versus the negative path I see during my day job. Kids remind you that honesty, hope, and optimism are still alive and well! Let my inability to enjoy being home now that my kids are all grown up work to your advantage! Let me come and be worn out by your kids while you enjoy a much-needed date night or night out with friends. I can't wait to meet you!
