Hi! My name is Soph (they/them) I am almost 24 and have lived in Portland for nearly five years. I would love to be a babysitter and pal for your kiddo! Described by my friends as communicative, kind, observant, and patient, I bring a wealth of experience in childcare. Growing up, I took care of my two younger siblings, learning invaluable skills in nurturing and understanding children's needs. Since middle school, I've been actively involved in babysitting children ranging from infants to pre-teens. From managing a group of seven or more kids at summer camp to teaching guitar and singing, assisting with homework, and household chores, I thrive on keeping kids engaged and entertained while fostering a safe and nurturing environment. My patience and ability to discern and address their individual needs have been instrumental in my caregiving journey. Last summer, I had the privilege of working at Movement Rock Read more Gyms' summer camp, where I played a key role in designing and implementing educational activities. Guiding youngsters through climbing sessions, I prioritized positivity, inclusivity, and encouragement. This experience reignited my passion to be there for youngsters! I had the wonderful opportunity to spend a high school year abroad in Spain and became fluent in Spanish. I haven't gotten the chance to practice in a while, but can understand well and communicate to a certain degree. I have my own car and am in the process of getting my CPR certification again.
