From a very young age I have loved caring for babies. I had to start with dolls, of course, but as soon as I was able I began babysitting every chance I got. As an adult I continue to help friends and family with their children whenever a need arises. I was a part time nanny to the infant son (2-11 mo) of a friend who needed to work. I nannied part time for about a year for a friend's aunt and uncle with a 2 and 5 year old. For many years I have helped in the nursery/infant room at my church. I have a good understanding of the milestones for child development along with the various activities which encourage reaching those milestones. I have a love for and experience with children of all ages and temperaments. For the last 9 years I have gained more experience assisting families Read more by providing direct home care, mainly for teenage girls with disabilities. I stayed with one particular family for all 9 of those years, providing basic services such as bathing, dressing, meal prep, housekeeping, and respite care. I worked on habilitation goals: educational, safety, social and daily living skills. I provided transportation to doctor appointments, stores, restaurants, parks, etc. I often stayed overnight and cared for household pets. I am trustworthy, hard working, and loyal, plus I love animals.
