Hi! I'm Georgi :) I am 36 years old with a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies with an emphasis in Early Childhood Development. I have been taking care of children since I was a teenager. While attending college, I worked at a daycare center caring for infants 6 months to 2 years old. During the summertime, I cared for a 5-year-old 8 hours a day, going to the park, creating activities consisting of art, music and pretend play. I also would babysit children after school, helping with homework and preparing meals. I worked as a home visitor with an early head start program in Brooklyn. I worked alongside 12 families at a time completing child development assessments and creating an individual curriculum depending on the outcome. I also worked 1:1 with the parents to accomplish their own personal goals and help them in any areas they needed. Read more Singing and reading are a must in every child's life and I focused on being open, happy, caring and understanding. Children learn through play and that is exactly what I do with them. I am an auntie of 7 with two under 5 years old. I help my sister regularly and this brings me so much joy to see how they are developing and becoming their own unique person. I traveled to New Zealand Au Pair for a year 2013 - 2014. It was a magical experience and reminded me why I love working with children. It is amazing how much you can influence a child and help them in all aspects of their development. I returned in the middle of 2015 and continued working with the family as we created such a special and trusting bond. I later worked at an Early Childcare Center for 2.5 years caring for children 6 months to preschool. Whilst I was in the infant room I was the primary caregiver following the RIE philosophy. I am always looking for more opportunities to learn from children. They are small humans who deserve respect. I completed a RIE training course that allowed me to delve deeper into this philosophy. I am confident in my abilities and know that I genuinely care for the children I look after. Even though I do not have children of my own it doesn't mean I do not know how to be a mother (figure). I am respectful of people's lives and routines and I do my absolute best to follow that. I have completed many first aid courses over the years. I am looking to find the next family that needs someone like me to be part of their team!
