Hi! My name is Nathan, and I’m a recent graduate with an associate’s degree in Child Development. I’m CPR, First Aid, and AED certified for both adults and children, have a flexible schedule, and reliable transportation. I’m a nurturing, creative, and dependable caregiver who believes in supporting each child’s individuality, curiosity, and inner joy. My approach is rooted in mutual respect—children learn from their caregivers, and I believe we can learn just as much from them. I have professional experience both in childcare and eldercare. I worked as a CNA for 3 years, supporting up to 40 elderly residents with dementia and memory-related conditions. That work taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of compassionate care—skills I bring into every setting. During my time as a student teacher at Montessori Explorer, I helped guide a mixed-age classroom (ages 2–10), collaborating with lead teachers on daily lesson plans. I also created Read more and led activities in music & movement, literacy, STEM, and art. I loved getting to help each child explore their voice, interests, and strengths. I also provided one-on-one tutoring in language, math, reading, and science to help meet developmental goals. I currently work as a Youth Leader at the YMCA. I supervise groups of 10-20 children grades K-6 during after school programs, that include, MVPA, homework time, snack time, and assembly. My caregiving style is playful, calm, and intentional. I aim to create a safe, imaginative environment where children feel confident to explore, express themselves, and grow. Whether we're doing crafts, playing games, or reading stories, I’m always excited to meet kids where they’re at. I'm currently looking for families who value kindness, creativity, and connection. I'd love the opportunity to support your family and be a positive presence in your child’s life!

Nathan is wonderful with my two children (age 7 and 8). Both children are neurodivergent and are very active so findi g a sitter who melds well and can handle the unpredictable has been a challenge in the past. (One child is hyperactive and has oppositional defiance and the other is shy and very selctive with who she will talk to and has had major separation meltdowns and wont leave her room with previous sitters). Both kids were talking and playing games with Nathan within minutes of him arriving for the meet and greet and have loved having him come weekly for the past few months. My daughter enjoys having Nathan as a sitter and doesn't want him to leave and Nathan is stern but caring with my son who struggles with defiance and adult instruction sometimes. Nathan is great with entertaining both kids, lots of outdoor fun like tag and walks, pretend play, impromptu dance partys, arts and crafts, snack time, and singing concerts to Zootopia theme music. He helps with homework when needed and picks them up from achool and walks the few blocks to our home. All around, Nathan is responsible and caring and a great fit for our family.
