Hello! My name is Erika and I am a born and raised New Yorker with over 12 years of child care experience. While my career has been city government and non-profit management based with a concentration in education reform and overall quality of life for New Yorker's, my passion will always be caring for children. From being a nanny to an 8th grade Math teacher, my experience with child care runs the gamut. With the exception of graduate school, I have attended public schools my entire life. During my primary and secondary school years I majored in art illustration, helping shape my interest in the arts that I would love to share with your child! I graduated from Binghamton University with two BAs in Political Science and Sociology, and then went on to obtain my MPA with a concentration in Social Impact, Innovation and Investment from NYU. My personal, educational, Read more and professional experiences help me bring a world of knowledge and holistic educational approach to caring for your child. As a born an raised New Yorker, I love being a tourist in my own city and go on daily adventures that your little ones can enjoy as well. I am a licensed NY state driver for over 15 years with a clean record, I am comfortable in the kitchen to help make meals for the kiddos, and believe in a restorative justice approach in regards to discipline-- For example: I believe in having meaningful conversations with children about their behaviors and the feelings of others rather than using traditional forms of punishment (i.e., timeout).
