I believe adults who don’t truly enjoy being with babies, children, or adolescents need to stay out of child related career fields! Any child needs a truly loving adult by their side when being cared for. I truly love having fun and being goofy with kids- they’re the best! In recent years I have been a first time mom and stay at home mom to my current 10 month old, a full time nanny (and tutor) to a set of twins since age 8-10. Before that I’ve had multiple families I have cared for ages 7 months-11y/o. I’m currently 2 years into my psychology degree with a focus on child psychology and family communication. I am in the Air Force National Guard as a (wait for it..) a Heavy construction Diesel mechanic (that’s right I can care for your child and fix your car too! Ha). I am COVID-19 vaccinated, Read more along with ALL other necessary vaccinations that come with child care (TDAP, flu, etc.,) and that the military has required of me over the years (tetanus, etc.,) I am CPR/1st aide certified for adults, children, and infants. And am educated in case of a choking situation for adults, children, and infants. As your nanny I will work with your family to understand your personal wants, needs, and beliefs for raising your child(ren). I will always communicate to you the details of your child’s care whether it be in a daily/weeklu report, regular text updates, personal handwritten sticky notes on your bedside table (literally whatever works best for you!) I’m looking for a family who is professional but that I can also become family with. Caring for a child is a job that requires emotional availability as you get to witness and inspire growth day to day. Being a nany is a unique and initiate job with the family with whom a nanny and parents are rewarded by the child’s happiness and growth but must also understand the closeness with another adult that requires. If your kid can talk- they’ll likely tell me all your secrets. Those secrets can stay with me- I have held my FAIR share of secrets in the last several years. And that information never comes with judgement because no one is asking their kids to go around telling other adults they like to eat ice cream in bed at 9pm while binge watching Bridgerton lol. At the end of the day this will always be more than a job to me and I think it should be for anyone you decide to hire.
