My name is Erin, I'm 33 years old, and I grew up in the St. Louis suburbs. I recently moved back just before the pandemic after living in Portland, Oregon for the last six years. Currently, I’m seeking part-time nanny work as I get my writing career off the ground. I have worked as a nanny, outdoor teacher at Whole Child Montessori School in Portland, and as a rock climbing instructor. A little bit of background about me: I graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia with an English degree. I love climbing and running in my spare time and going for hikes! My style of working with kids is that I like to guide them to make safe and informed decisions on their own, while encouraging them with positive validation and compassion. I come from a family of 5 kids, so energy and activity is the norm for me! I have ample experience with infants and all ages. My favorite part of nannying/sitting is being adventurous, getting outside, encouraging imaginary play, and reading! Currently, I work for a family Mon/Tues/Thurs, so I'm available any of the other days of the week, as well as on weekends. My hourly rate is $25 an hour, which reflects my experience and expertise, as well as living costs. I’m a professional and expect to enter into professional, human-centered relationships with all the families I work with. I’ve developed a great network of families who I occasionally babysit for and the theme that remains true for all the families I work with is that they value me as a childcare provider and understand that the job is worthy of proper financial compensation.
