Hi, my name is Samique, but I go by Jalyn. I’m calm-natured, gentle, responsive, and child-led, with a love for spending time outdoors—hiking, exploring parks, or just enjoying nature with the kids I work with. I’m experienced and comfortable attuning to infant cues, creating developmentally appropriate opportunities for play and learning, and establishing firm yet loving boundaries. I’m not only patient, caring, and nurturing, but also extremely organized and detail-oriented when it comes to housework. I’ve been working with kids for 2.5 years, starting as a nanny right after graduating from my local high school in Charlottesville. That’s where I discovered how much I love helping children explore, learn, and grow. Watching my single mother raise my two younger sisters inspired me to get into the nanny business, and I’ve also worked as a dog sitter along the way. I decided to take a break from college to fully focus on learning and growing in child development. I see this not just as a job, but as a way to support families and make a meaningful impact—because working with kids is truly my passion!
