Hi! My name is Syble Heffernan, and I have 10+ years of experience caring for children of all ages. My experience caring for children began in high school as a babysitter and private swim lesson instructor. After moving to Lincoln in college, I continued this work as a member of the Before-and-After School Program for Northeast YMCA, then Trinity Infant and Childcare, where I cared for and helped implement early childhood education curriculum to children from infant to pre-teen. This past school year, I became a certified substitute teacher and started substitute teaching for all grade levels within Lincoln Public Schools (including pre-K). I also have experience working with middle and high school students as an after-school creative writing and spoken word poetry teaching artist. Additionally, I nannied full-time for two children (ages 9 and 6) during summer 2022, and part-time for the same two children (ages 12 and 9) Read more in summer 2025. I have had countless babysitting jobs, including for larger group jobs of up to 10 children. I have a reliable vehicle and driver's license and am CPR and First-Aid Certified. I am comfortable with light housekeeping, running errands, drop-off/pick-up, pet care, and preparing simple meals, and I have experience accommodating children with food allergies. I am passionate about early childhood education and development, and I provide intentional, engaging, child-focused care. I have experience working with neurodivergent children, and am skilled in following individualized approaches to create the most supportive environment for the child's development, and build a positive relationship with them. I value an environment where children are not only being cared for, but also learning new things and making fun, lasting memories! This summer, I am looking for a full or part-time nanny job in Lincoln, as well as babysitting jobs as available. I will be unavailable the weeks of July 13-17 and July 27-31 due to pre-planned travel, but I am happy to help find another reliable nanny to cover for me during that time. I would love to get to know you and your children to see if we would be a good fit!
