Hello! My name is Grace Nelson, I am 18 years old and just graduated from Tigard High School. I love the outdoors! I enjoy going to parks, going on walks, swimming, chalk art, painting, anything you can do outside-I love doing! I am a kid at heart so playing games is always super fun such as tag, hide and seek, red light green light, you name it! Board games and reading are always super fun as well! Relaxing and watching a movie or tv show are also things I enjoy doing! I love stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things and going to new places. I worked at a summer camp with groups as large as 30 and ranged from kids between the ages of 5-12. I planned fun activities for the kids to do outdoors as well as indoors. The camps were every day starting at Read more 8am to 4pm. Every friday we took them on a fun field trip like swimming, museums, and parks! I also worked at Durham Elementary School where I taught classes and helped out in the classroom by grading tests and helping out with math, reading, writing, etc. I created fun lessons, classes, and activities in the preschool at my high school which consisted of coming up with a theme (ex. friendship) and an activity for math, literacy, reading, and art. During the school year I worked at Metro Gymnastics Center where I taught kids gymnastics with groups ranging from 4-12 kids. I'm planning on starting my own preschool, daycare, or elementary school and am majoring in elementary education when I go to college. Unfortunately I will not be attending school in the fall due to Covid. I have also been babysitting for a sweet 2 year old once a week as well as many babysitting jobs for the past few years. As a babysitter, the most important thing to me is the safety of each child. It is extremely important to always make sure each child is safe and that will always be my number one concern. Of course another important thing is making sure the kids are having fun and enjoying their time spent with me and being able to build and establish a trusting, safe, and caring relationship with each child. Kids are my absolute pride and joy, I never view it as a job, I thoroughly love spending time with kids. Whenever envisioning my future job and what I want out of life, it always involves kids.
