My name is Jordan Rasheed. I am currently a student at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, majoring in Psychology, and I have two (2) years of experience working with toddler-aged children. From Pre-k through 8th grade, I attended full Montessori learning academies and as a result, I have first-hand experience in practicing and cultivating Montessorian culture, “community”, and principles in a manner that follows the multi-sensory learning needs and social ques of each child. This creates a caring environment that safely promotes a child’s natural curiosity to learn, explore, and search for age-appropriate experiences that are educational, self-directed, and fulfilling. My goal is to help families by fostering independence, confidence, and empowerment (with the support of an adult) that will prepare children for balance in both school and life. This begins at home, and I aim to create a routine that will allow our days to run smoothly Read more and effectively. This routine includes a framework and expectations for downtime/naps, educational practices, resources, fun and playtime, and meals. I will also provide (and model) light housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, cleaning, and organization, as it pertains to the child. Being a nanny is a profession that allows me to make a significant impact in a family's life by providing them with personalized care for their child. Through the experiences gained from caring for infants to the age of two (2) years old, I have been able to identify successful practices that consider the individual needs, values, and preferences of each family, and adapting my care style to best align with those needs, while still creating a stimulating and nurturing environment for the child. Ultimately, I take pride in creating a communicative, safe, and happy environment for the children and the families I work with, and being a positive light during the formative years of a child’s life.
