I have extensive experience working with children and teenagers, from infancy through seventeen years, across a wide range of educational and care settings. As a Special Education Technician, I support students with diverse learning needs through individualized instruction, adaptive strategies, and encouragement. I have also served as a nursery school lead teacher, fostering early childhood development through play-based learning, social-emotional guidance, and consistent routines. As a middle school classroom teacher, I guided students through academic progress and the social development that defines this pivotal stage. In addition, I maintain a private studio as a piano and voice instructor, where I design lessons that emphasize both technical mastery and creative expression. Beyond the classroom, I have engaged with children in roles that combine mentorship, care, and leadership. As a youth group leader, I built meaningful connections with middle and high school students through activities, Sunday dinners, and informal gatherings. As a Read more camp counselor, I supervised children ages five to twelve, ensuring their safety at the archery range, pool, and ropes course while also creating a spirited and supportive environment through music, chants, and games. I also worked as a live-in nanny for four children (ages 10, 13, 15, and 17), supporting them with academics, teaching life skills such as driving, and managing the dynamics of a busy household—an experience both challenging and rewarding. I hold bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music, having studied at The Juilliard School and Bard College. As a professional opera singer, I have performed internationally, experiences that shaped my discipline, creativity, and ability to communicate across cultures. While the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted my performing career, it opened the door to a deeper commitment to education and child development, where I now find tremendous fulfillment working with students of all ages. Outside of my professional work, I remain passionate about music, tennis, and lifelong learning. Tennis has been a favorite sport since childhood, and I continue to play regularly. I practice mindfulness and meditation and find balance through hiking and camping. Growing up in Maine gave me a strong connection to nature that I carry with me. I am also passionate about food and cooking and enjoy exploring the diversity of cuisines available today.
