Hi families! My name is Cassandra Maciel. I am a UC Berkeley graduate, former high school English teacher, and experienced caregiver with over 10 years of babysitting, nannying, tutoring, teaching, and lifeguarding experience. I have called Ventura home for the past two years and am deeply rooted here while raising my family. I am currently a stay-at-home mom to my kind and energetic 20-month-old son, and I am offering part-time childcare in my home for one additional child. Our days are structured, warm, and adventure-filled with park play, beach outings, library story times, children’s museums in Camarillo, zoo trips in Santa Barbara, and plenty of outdoor exploration. I also prepare daily homemade, healthy meals and snacks, creating a “crunchy,” active, and nourishing environment where little ones can thrive. At just over a year old, my son began showing a strong interest in early learning, including word sounds, phonics, and early Read more reading exposure, and I have loved gently nurturing that curiosity through play, repetition, and everyday experiences. I would love to expand and grow this learning-rich environment with the inclusion of another child, creating a space where both children can learn from each other, build social skills, and explore the world together. I provide care in a safe, loving, and thoughtfully organized home where routine, connection, and active play are the foundation of our day. I bring strong references, a clean background, a spotless driving record, and a genuine passion for children’s growth, development, and joy. As a stay-at-home mom, this is a very intentional choice to offer care from my home so I can maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment under my supervision. I take the responsibility of caring for someone else’s child very seriously and would be honored to provide a space where the included family feels confident, supported, and at ease. This is a great fit for a family looking for attentive, in-home care in a social, family-style environment where children can learn, play, and grow together. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to see if this feels like a good fit—I would love to connect and set up a time to meet.
