Hello! My name is Marissa I am 19 years old and I have been babysitting kids since I was 12 years old. I have experience with all ages of children from as young as infants up to 12 year old kids, I have babysat for family and friends as well as people around my neighborhood. I am the oldest of 5 kids which has given me even more experience caring for children, growing up I often took care of all of my siblings whenever my parents left the house and even cared for them overnight for several days on some occasions! When I was in highschool I took 2 childhood development classes and thoroughly enjoyed them, I also learned a lot about what kids need as their developing and how to handle difficult situations properly. After taking my childhood development classes I decided to take the daycare class my school Read more provided because I found passion in childcare. My highschool had a small daycare facility where I could volunteer in replacement of elective classes and I had a great experience in the daycare! The daycare had 23 toddlers ages 2-6 and 12 infants that I took care of with the help of three staff members and 2 other students. In that class I taught the children fine motor skills, how to read and write, lead several activities, monitored outdoor play, changed diapers, helped with potty training, as well as making formula and snacks for the children! In that class we also went over several emergency situations and how to handle them as safely as possible, some things we went over include first aid, CPR, fire/earthquake drills and allergy related issues. I was prioritized to care for the infants most of the time because I had a natural ability to provide what the infants needed but I also really enjoyed caring for the toddlers and grew very close relationships with all of the kids! I have always had a passion and need to care for those around me especially children and childcare is something I have always been passionate about! I am a very loving and caring person as well as a good listener and I have a lot of patience, my best trait is how empathetic and emotionally intelligent I am and I pride myself on being the best possible care giver! I am willing to adapt to different families needs and although I don’t have experience with special needs children I am open to accepting all families that require my care!
