My name is Stephanie. I am a current employee at LAUSD and have been babysitting for 2 years. I am a teacher assistant for a kindergarten and 1st grade classroom. I assisted the teacher by helping with: classwork ( math, spelling, reading); I do a lot of one on one, practicing letter sound correspondence, practicing writing, spelling, and going down the list of high frequency words. In my first grade class I help the teacher with emotional kids who are considered behavioral problems. I talk with them, have a conversation; encourage them to do their classwork. And when they are having a bad day we go outside the classroom to calm down because a couple get physical. I play games and reward positive behavior. I have helped raise my baby brother from infancy; very hands on. My mother delivered my brother through cesarean and had complications later on. My mother Read more then spent a week in the hospital and I then started caring for my baby brother since then and he opened up my love for children. And from then on I have been entrusted by neighbors, friends, and family to look after their loved ones. I play, cook, feed, change( diaper and clothes), read, go out for a stroll. I am a friendly, kind, fair, honest, sincere, patient, caring, loving, reliable, giving, smart individual. I give my full attention to the child and his or her needs. I like to plan fun activities both physical and creative. I have been a babysitter for children between the ages of 0 to 3 years of age. My primary focus is on the child but I have helped families with some meal preparations, light house work, and run errands when needed. I see child care as more than just a job, as you're becoming part of someones life. I love what I do and have fun doing so.
