I currently work at a childcare center where I’m working toward earning my infant & toddler CDA. The center currently has no kids, but they have me volunteering at a 4th-5th grade elementary school for 20 hours each week, and I do a lot of training outside of that time. I’ve previously worked at an in-home daycare that had 9 kids ranging from 7 months to 4 years old. I was the lead teacher in a Sunday school class for several years, being responsible for the lesson plan each week. And like many others, I’ve done a lot of babysitting. I’m a strong proponent of social-emotional learning and learning through play. I’ve studied a bit about various toddler/preschool curriculum, such as Great Start, Montessori, and High Scope. All in all, I enjoy working with kids so much. I’m patient, understanding, encouraging, and loving. There are a lot of things I Read more love about being with kids, but my favorite is seeing the way their brains work. I’m looking for 10-18 hours a week in the early mornings (about 4-7:30) before I go to work. I can also be available for occasional date night babysitting.
