Hello! I am a high school teacher with 18 years of classroom experience and I have been working with adolescents for over 25 years. I started babysitting at age 13, and continued working with the same family all throughout high school and when I was home from college. Starting in 2005, I spent three summers as an educator at an environmental education center where I planned and led summer activities for children ages 4-13. After earning my bachelor's degree in 2006, I began my teaching career at a boarding school in Connecticut. As a dorm parent, teacher, and cross country coach, I was responsible for the physical, social, and emotional wellbeing of dozens of students each year. I currently work as a history teacher in Morristown, New Jersey and I live in Somerville with my husband Stephen and our three cats. I am the proud aunt of six nieces and Read more five nephews ages 3-19. I am seeking a summer caregiver position, beginning in mid June and ending in August when the school year resumes. In addition to classroom experience, I have worked as a private tutor, and I would be delighted to offer homework help in all humanities subjects. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. I am a strong swimmer and can provide swim lessons. Lastly, can perform many other household duties including pet setting, cleaning, cooking, laundry, and houseplant care. When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, and spending time outdoors. I enjoy jogging, hiking, cycling, and practicing yoga. I'm excited to offer enriching activities to a great family this summer. If I am a good fit, I have weekend availability throughout the school year.
