Hi, I’m Penelope! I am a 21 year old nursing student and daycare teacher in Athens, GA. I have over 8 years of experience working with children of all ages in the home, daycare, grade school, and (most recently!) hospital settings. In my first two years of undergrad, I minored in Human Development & Child Life studies which broadened my knowledge of the developmental demands of children from birth to adolescence, along with how to foster educational and emotional growth. Since being in nursing school, I have had the privilege of working at the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta where I am learning how to assess and treat sick children from a holistic perspective involving not only the child’s health but their emotional, social, and developmental needs. I have my Basic Life Support (BLS) certification which includes CPR, AEDs, and choking precautions. I also have a training in Mandated Reporting: Critical Read more Lengths in Protecting Children in Georgia through the GA Dept. of Early Care & Learning. As you can see, I have a passion for working with children. I am currently looking for babysitting opportunities in the Athens area. My schedule during the school year is quite hectic so I’m usually only available in the evenings and on weekends. However, I am much more flexible during the summer and would love to create long-lasting caregiver relationships with families in the area.
