Meet Rico

  • Comfortable with pets
  • Has a car

My name is Rico, and I have over 3.5 years of childcare experience caring for two boys in San Francisco, ages 3 and 10 when I started (now 6 and 13). One of the children had ADD and a speech impediment, so I am very comfortable providing patient, supportive care for kids who need a little extra attention. I also have hands-on experience caring for my 4-year-old sister while my dad, a firefighter, is on shift. Managing her routines independently has taught me how to balance structure, fun, and flexibility with younger children. I’m athletic, energetic, and creative, which helps me keep kids active and engaged. Growing up, I played nearly every sport and continue to stay involved in athletics as a sponsored skateboarder. I love channeling that energy into outdoor play, games, and activities that make childhood fun while also keeping a good routine. In addition to childcare, I’m Read more dependable with household responsibilities such as preparing meals, tidying up play areas, and helping keep family routines organized

Rico worked with our children for 3.5 years, starting when they were 3 and 10, and continued until they are now 6 and 13. One of our children has an undiagnosed autism spectrum condition and a speech impediment, and Rico handled every challenge with incredible patience, empathy, and understanding. He helped our children navigate transitions, develop routines, and build confidence, all while keeping them engaged, happy, and supported. From day one, Rico treated our children as if they were his own. He created a warm, nurturing environment, full of fun, creativity, and learning opportunities. Our kids grew to genuinely love him, and it was clear he had formed a strong bond with them that went beyond traditional childcare. He helped them develop life skills, encouraged their curiosity, and fostered independence in a thoughtful and structured way. Beyond childcare, Rico is incredibly responsible, reliable, and organized. He managed schedules, prepared meals, assisted with homework, and helped keep our home running smoothly. He also has a natural ability to connect with children and adjust to their individual needs, making him a perfect fit for families with children who require extra care or support. We unfortunately had to let Rico go when we moved to Utah, which was completely unrelated to his performance. We would rehire him in an instant. Any family would be lucky to have Rico as a caregiver—he is professional, compassionate, and truly exceptional at what he does.
