I’m Jessica! I’m 28 years old and I live in the Upper East Side. I’m spending this summer taking a step back from the 70-hour corporate grind (after six years in client relationship management in financial services) to enjoy the city, reset, and reflect on a potential bigger career pivot. In the meantime, I’m looking for meaningful part-time work that brings a little structure to my mornings while leaving afternoons open to focus on long-term goals. While I’ve only had occasional paid babysitting gigs growing up in Atlanta, I’ve spent much of my life around children. My mom was a nanny, so I grew up tagging along and seeing firsthand what patient, attentive childcare looks like. I’m also nearly 13 years older than my little brother, so I was a built-in babysitter throughout my teens. In high school, I volunteered at a nonprofit helping children with reading, writing, and math, Read more and I spent two college summers working as a summer instructor at a kids’ learning center. I’m playful and nurturing by nature. I love taking kids to the park, diving into story time, and getting silly with pretend play. I’m also fluent in Spanish, which can be a great bonus for bilingual families or anyone looking to introduce their child to a second language. I’m certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED for both adults and pediatrics — and always aim to be a calm, responsible, and reassuring presence in any situation. I’m available weekday mornings and open to occasional evenings or weekends with advance notice. In my free time, you’ll find me walking my dog Ziggy with my boyfriend, showing friends around the city (I’ve lived in NYC for 6 years!), grabbing coffee, taking a cooking class, or catching a Broadway show.
