My name is Desiree. I live in Thornton and I have 18 years of child care experience. I have a degree in early childhood education and have worked with children ranging from infants to 10-years-olds. I have volunteered in a daycare, worked in a home daycare, and worked as a private nanny for several families. My experience includes taking care of infants, toddlers, twins, older children, and children with special needs. I have helped children with everything from toilet training to homework to learning piano. With my nurturing and patient nature, I easily taught children how to use sign language. Bringing comfort and joy to children has also brought confidence and new ideas to those entrusted to my care. I am reliable, caring, trustworthy, patient and a loving caregiver. I am also CPR and First Aid Certified.

As first-time parents, my husband and I were incredibly nervous to leave my newborn with someone new, but Desiree quickly made us feel at ease. Desiree is prompt and professional. She has always arrived on time at our home (and most days a little early!) and communicates well in advance if she needs to cancel a day for some reason. She has also been gracious on days where I’ve been late making it home to pick up our son because of traffic. She is also very proactive. When Desiree started watching our son, she quickly got him into a routine of meals, naps, and playtime that we emulate on the weekends. He gets fussy now when he doesn’t get his morning walk! This structure has been so good for him. She also makes a point to work with him on his developmental skills; in fact, she was the one that first got him to roll over on his own. Desiree has been working with our son lately on walking, talking, and sign language. She is great about asking if there’s something she thinks could be beneficial for your child; for example, she asked me if we could pick up some additional toys for tummy time to help our son do better with it. Most importantly, Desiree truly cared about our child like he was a member of her family. She quickly developed a close bond with him and I loved seeing how excited he was every day she’d come to our house. We no longer work with Desiree only because we chose to move our child to a daycare so he could get some time out of the house and learn to play with other kids. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, dedicated, and experienced, we highly recommend Desiree Labor.

Desiree cared for our infant son three days per week over the past two months while we worked from home. From the moment she entered our home, we were impressed with her confidence. It was clear she was highly experienced and comfortable caring for little ones in the 6 to 8-month old range, even during the inevitable fussy and inconsolable moments. She did a great job keeping him entertained and happy throughout the day, reading him books, taking him for walks and teaching him new skills daily. It was nice to see them bond and see our son smile at and snuggle her when she was around. Given that Desiree started with us during the height of the pandemic before vaccinations were widely available, we asked her to wear a mask in the beginning and she was thoughtful and respectful of that request throughout her time with us. We felt very comfortable leaving our son with her and knew she could be trusted to provide excellent, attentive care. Desiree was a great help to us before our son started daycare full time and we recommend her for families looking for experienced childcare support, whether as a long-term nanny or occasional sitter alike.

Desiree Labor served as a part-time (after school) nanny for my children for 2011-2012 school year. She cared for my two children ages 9 and 10. I highly recommend her for future employment. She was very dependable and I feel blessed to have her as a part of my children's lives. Desiree has a kind-hearted, patient and nurturing personality. She went above and beyond her duties as a baby-sitter. Our 9 year old struggles with school and she kept him on track. She provided our 10 year old with fantastic care, because he struggled with Epilepsy. Desiree had her hands full with our two boys and handled it with great ease. We always felt safe leaving our children with Desiree. She was very understanding, even when having to work overtime. She even transported our children to doctor's appointments if needed. I believe Desiree would be a fantastic employee for you or your organization.
