I began caregiving at the age of 12 taking care of my first nephew from the time he was a newborn till present day (He’s 12 now!). I would always watch my cousins at family parties or when they would come over, I would go by my childhood daycare and volunteer until I was old enough to work, which never ended up happening because the daycare closed. I eventually came around a daycare that was only a few minutes away from my high school so I began working there at freshly 17. After around 2+ years I decided to search for other opportunities for growth. I worked as a head teacher for Pre-K 1 for about a year then one of the parents from my class offered me a live out nanny position which I gladly took! It was my first experience with a new family full-time, long story short Read more I ended up loving it so much! I did meal prep, small activities throughout the week, focused on the kid’s growth (milestones, sensory, fine+gross motor skills) appropriate for his age, along with mom we created a great Montessori space in their home and made a plan for each week.
