Hi there! My name is Alia, and I graduated from CSU studying Nutrition & Food Science as well as Health & Exercise Science. My academic focus has given me a strong foundation in child health, wellness, and developmental knowledge that I love bringing into my work with kids and families. One of the most meaningful parts of my current experience is working with UCHealth’s Healthy Hearts & Minds program. In this role, I perform biometric health screenings and provide education on healthy habits, nutrition, and heart health. Helping children and families understand their bodies and make positive choices has strengthened my passion for education and wellness. I first got into teaching about five years ago when I worked in an after-school program, and since then I’ve continued working with children ranging from infants to preschoolers. I also served as a head counselor at Mountain Kids, where I led groups and Read more planned engaging activities, including movie days and hands-on projects. One of my favorite things about working with children is their genuine, creative perspective on life—their humor and curiosity never fail to brighten my day. Whether I’m working with little ones or older youth at the Boys & Girls Club (where I currently work as a Youth Specialist), I love being a mentor and creating environments where kids feel supported and valued. I’m first-aid certified, have a clean driving record, and have been cooking my whole life. I’m also happy to provide a background check if needed. I look forward to meeting you!
