Why I Love Being a Sitter I genuinely love spending time with children—I’ve found that I’m happiest when I’m having fun, connecting, and learning with them. Over the past five years, I’ve been traveling the world doing humanitarian aid work, and working with kids has consistently been the most rewarding and joyful part of that journey. I have a special gift for building trust with children of all ages, and I bring patience, kindness, and reliability into every interaction. My Experience and Background I’ve worked with children ages 4 to 15 in a variety of settings—community programs, educational spaces, and one-on-one care. When I’m back in the U.S., I regularly care for my friends’ and family members’ children and also work part-time as a teacher, including with kids who have special needs. I also teach mindfulness and yoga to children and teens, which helps them develop emotional regulation, body awareness, Read more and tools for calm and focus. Before I began my humanitarian work, I was a professional chef by trade. While I’ve changed career paths, I still love bringing creativity, care, and even some fun cooking into my time with kids when appropriate. Skills and Training 5+ years of experience working with children in international and domestic settings Mindfulness and yoga teacher for youth Patient, dependable, and emotionally attuned Comfortable with children of all ages, including those with special needs Fluent in both English and Spanish Background in professional kitchens—great for fun, safe cooking activities with kids! Whether it’s imaginative play, creative projects, homework help, yoga and mindfulness practice, or simply being a consistent, caring presence, I’m passionate about helping children feel safe, engaged, and supported.
