Hello, My name is Laura, I was raised in Culver City all of my life. I have been working with children for the past 10 years. And in my last recent job with a family, I worked with two toddler twins. I have always had a passion for children and their development and I am also the eldest of 5 siblings so I like to find a balance of teaching children but also having so much fun and ultimately support parents and be guided in the best way they want to lead their children. I am fluent in English and Spanish and know basic French. I have 10 years of consistent experience in child care. It began as a nanny every weekend during high school and then progressed to Friday- Sunday when I was attending college for Child Development Monday- Thursday. I have a degree in child development and I Read more am certified to teach pre-k, tk and kindergarten. After finishing school I started working at a day care in Santa Monica and continued to be a nanny to children from recommended families that knew families I used to be a nanny for in high school. I also have a certification that is specific to cater to the needs of special needs children, and have done 40 hours of training in a El Segundo Facility for special needs children called NAPA. I have a drivers license with a clean record and have a clean and comfortable SUV since I have always been caring for children. I also do not drink nor smoke. My favorite thing about being a nanny is truly being able to teach kids in a fun way rather than just watch them. I like to make things interactive for all age groups. I grew up in the Montessori system and carry all those teachings with me and every child I have been a nanny for. I customize experiences for learning and fun activities depending on the age, interest and gift of each child. I look forward to hearing from you, please let me know if you would like a submission of my references and reviews.
