Hello, my name is Halen Lauer. I am certified in CPR through the American Red Cross and have over six years of experience caring for children in a variety of settings. I am currently taking online college courses, which allows me to maintain a flexible schedule while seeking a steady babysitting position. My passion for childcare began early. In high school, I completed four years of Child Development courses, where I worked hands-on with children ages 3–5 in a preschool-style program held inside the school. During this time, I learned valuable skills in early childhood education, such as lesson planning, age-appropriate play, and classroom management. I loved helping children explore their creativity through crafts, encouraging their curiosity during learning activities, and supporting them in building important social skills. After high school, I expanded my experience by working at a private school as an after-school program teacher. I supervised and engaged Read more groups of 15–20 students in grades K–5, leading educational and recreational activities, assisting with homework, supervising outdoor play, and ensuring smooth dismissal routines. This role required patience, responsibility, and strong organizational skills, and I was often trusted to serve as a full-day substitute teacher when needed. Outside of childcare, I have also worked with animals for more than eight years. Including dog daycare and boarding facility and as a Surgical Veterinary Assistant. These roles have strengthened my multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and sense of responsibility. I truly enjoy being around both children and pets, and I take pride in creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for both. Families I have babysat for in my hometown often describe me as dependable, caring, and creative. I believe in balancing fun with structure—whether that’s helping with homework, organizing engaging crafts, or ensuring a smooth bedtime routine. Safety is always my top priority, but I also strive to make every child feel supported, valued, and comfortable.
