My experience: During the week, I work full-time as a caretaker for a local daycare facility. I was taught and trained by a fantastic non-profit, play-based facility in Livermore that values the children, regardless of disability or culture (Livermore Playschool). I have all my child education credentials (12+ ECE units) to be a certified caretaker, as well as first aid and CPR. I am continuing my education in child development and hope to obtain my associate's degree within a couple of years. I am only interested in weekend babysitting jobs, as I work a 9-5 throughout the week. Why I do what I do: I love children and I always have. I grew up in a home where my mother ran a daycare. I've always taken on the role of caretaker, as I've watched her take care of my siblings and me, in addition to caring for other families' children. Read more I've always enjoyed the work and the reward of teaching. I am also a mother to two beautiful children, both under four. My own child has ADHD, so I understand the difficulties of raising a child with attention deficits and hyperactivity. My goal is to ensure that children feel loved, regardless of the little mistakes they make, and to remind them of how amazing they are through positive affirmations.
