I'm a child care provider and former teacher with nine years of experience in education, including four years with infants and toddlers specifically. I like to make babysitting an exciting experience for children while maintaining routines they are used to, so I plan activities based on their interests and developmental level. My philosophy is that kids (and all people!) do well if they can, so I first use sensory regulation strategies to calm children, then talk together about what they are feeling and how to solve any problems they are having. I have a soft spot particularly for kids with extra behavioral needs.
