If there were leagues for babysitters/nannies, I would most definitely be in the majors leagues! I have been babysitting/nannying since I was 12 years old and if I were to put all of my experience from then until now onto paper, it would a lengthy read. I haven't ever quite counted, but I would estimate that I've babysat/nannied for about 35 different families throughout my babysitting/nannying career. I've watched all ages of children ranging from 3 months to 15 years old, and up to 6 children at one time. There are multiple families where I have babysat their kids through their entire childhood and have watched them grow up! I have always loved children. One of the biggest reasons why I think I connect so well with them is that I am very young at heart, energetic, and love life! My passion and love for children led me to becoming Read more an elementary school teacher. I am a 4th grade teacher currently, but I've also taught 5th grade and 6th grade. As a babysitter/nanny and teacher, I believe the most important thing is to form a strong relationship with the child/children through play, talk, and love and care in general. The teacher in me can't help but take on the role of educating the children I nanny and babysit on how to have good manners, be kind, and reflect and take ownership of mistakes. I love to play games, do crafts, play sports, and go to special places with the kids to keep them learning and having fun. I am organized and clean (I always make sure to leave your kitchen sink dish-less), and I am good at keeping kids on a schedule! I truly care about every child that I nanny for as if they were my own relatives. On that note, I also am in love with my little nieces and nephews and their amazing parents that I have learned so much from about parenting in general. I like to be around children because they give me the scope of life that can sometimes get ignored or forgotten about as an adult. It's ironic how little, tiny humans (with hardly any years of life experience) are the ones constantly reminding you what life is ALL about.
