Hi there. I have been excited about Sitting for children since I was 12. I’m mature and a mother of two wonderful, grown sons. I’ve worked in a private preschool, public schools and volunteered helping with children of all ages. I’m a “Fun Maker” of almost anything and I truly enjoy children. I have a medical background and references from families I’ve cared over 30 years. October 2022 Dear Family, I am recommending Sherri Newman for the nanny position with your family. Sherri was with us, and took exceptional care of our firstborn son from May - October 2022. When we began exploring options for in home care for our son I became very concerned at the lack of responsible candidates in this field. Sherri however was a breath of fresh air even prior to day one. She was professional, responsive, polite, friendly & genuine. Soon after Sherri started working with our family our son would light up with excitement and reach for her when she came in, in the mornings. It gave us invaluable peace of mind that our baby was connecting so well with his caregiver. Originally, we hired Sherri with the understanding that we would only need her services for four months. I planned to return to my job for only one trime FROM THE DESK OF The Smith Family ster after maternity leave to tie up some loose ends. However, Sherri made things easier than expected for our family so I was able to extend my employment through the end of the year. We are now only parting ways as I plan to close out the remainder of the year with accrued vacation time and PTO and will now be able to stay home with our family. During her time with us Sherri went above and beyond for our family. She cleaned our home and did laundry when our sons naps permitted. She stayed later when needed. She even brought him books and toys that she knew would help with advancing his development. Our family felt like we truly lucked out to have Sherri take care of our son. Moreover, we felt like she became a part of our family in a short while. Someone is going to luck out to have Sherri oversee their children. Sherri is amazing! Sherri started working with our family with the intention that she would work for us for 3-4 months while I finished up some loose ends with work, but she fit in with our family so well that she ended up staying with us for 7. She immediately bonded with our 4 month old son and we felt comfortable and confident he was being truly cared for. She brought him books and read to him, did learning and physical exercises with him to ensure he was hitting all the proper milestones and was being properly enriched and entertained. Sherri also cleaned and maintained our home while our son was napping. This was not part of her expected job duties but she did it just to be helpful. On another note, Sherri showed up to work every day on time for 7 months! This is extremely hard to find these days. We may be biased because Sherri is now a friend of our family, but we would definitely recommend her for your family.

She never really seemed like she knew what she was doing or how to do things with our 7 month old. She was always asking questions always disagreeing with us as parents and it got very old. She also likes to be paid for days she doesn’t work.
