I have spent my whole life caring for children.I was a professional nanny for most of my 20's through mid 30's until I married the love of my life and started our family. I am the mom of two boys 17 and 19 years old. I was a home visitor with Shasta Head Start. Previous to my two years at Head Start I was a county licensed foster parent for 14 years. In that time my family welcomed 56 children into our home ranging in ages from 26 hours - 18 years old. Our shortest placement was 19 hours and our longest 6 years. That is a lot of hellos and goodbyes! The latter half of my foster parenting career I focused on drug exposed newborns. I absolutely adore babies and young children. Childhood should be a magical time of discovery, joyful experiences and learning. I am completely dependable, caring Read more and loyal. Foster care has been immensely fulfilling, but all the good byes are hard on me and my family. My time at Head Start has made me more confident in my abilities to care and guide a child’s growth and development while supporting the entire family. I am looking forward to working with a professional family long term hopefully, beginning with their first newborn. A family who travels would be a huge bonus!
