Dear Families, Hello! My name is Sydney, and I am a dedicated, caring, and experienced childcare provider with many years of experience working with children of all ages. I was a Girl Scout for 12 years and attended sleepaway camp each summer, where I developed strong leadership, responsibility, and teamwork skills. I participated in the Counselor in Training Program for two summers and later served as a Junior Counselor. In this role, I assisted the Unit Counselor with planning and implementing activities, led and supported campers in age-appropriate programs, and corresponded with campers to encourage their personal growth and confidence. In 2019, I worked at Clinton Gymnastics, where I assisted with program planning based on recreational themes, provided emotional support and encouragement to campers, and helped maintain a clean and organized environment. I also have extensive childcare experience through caring for my younger sister, who is now 10 years old. I am a graduate of Morgan State University, where I earned a degree in Biology. This background, along with my current role as a second-grade teacher, has strengthened my ability to support children’s academic growth, curiosity, and love of learning. In my teaching role, I design engaging lessons, manage classroom routines, provide individualized support, and build strong relationships with children and families. I am CPR, First Aid, and AED certified, and I take safety very seriously. I pride myself on being patient, reliable, nurturing, and attentive to each child’s unique needs.
