Hi! My name is Amelia, and I'm a recent graduate from the Rhode Island School of Design now living in the Ann Arbor area. I love working with children because I genuinely enjoy their curiosity, creativity, and energy—every day with kids is different, and I find that incredibly rewarding. I believe the best childcare comes from being truly present and engaged. I love creating activities that are fun and meaningful, whether that's arts and crafts, outdoor play, reading together, or just following a child's lead in imaginative play. I take pride in building trust with both kids and parents, and I genuinely care about making sure children feel safe, heard, and happy. I spent a year living and working at Plowshare Farm, a residential community in New Hampshire, where I provided daily care and support for adults with developmental disabilities, as well as daily care and support for children of Read more various ages in the community. This immersive experience taught me patience, adaptability, and how to create structured yet flexible routines that meet individual needs. I developed personalized care plans, led therapeutic workshops in arts and crafts, and became skilled at communicating with people who have diverse needs and communication styles. I've also worked extensively in hospitality, where I've honed my ability to stay calm under pressure, multitask effectively, and anticipate needs before they're expressed—all skills that translate directly to caring for children. I bring the following skills to the job: Experience creating engaging, age-appropriate activities (arts, crafts, outdoor play); strong communication skills with both children and parents; comfortable with meal preparation and light household tasks; reliable, punctual, and organized; patient and adaptable to different family routines and parenting styles. I'm available for occasional babysitting, regular part-time care, or date nights. I have a flexible schedule and reliable transportation.
