Hello, My name is Alexa, I am a 29 year old Latina who is bicultural and bilingual in Spanish with previous experience with child care for children of all ages and race. As well, as a mother of her own. I have a BA in Criminal Justice and International Relations. I am CPR certified from my previous employer in child welfare care. Where my story began, 20 years in competitive swimming lead me to previously be a swimming instructor for my neighborhood park district during high school. That is where my interest and patience for children began. I am looking to care give for anyone who needs a part or full time babysitter. I come from a large family where family values and unity is important and I often care for my younger nieces/nephews, cousins and other children of my relatives. As well, I am a new mother of a Read more beautiful baby girl and I am wholeheartedly enjoying motherhood. Most importantly, in the course of my undergraduate I became an intern in a community based domestic violence organization in Chicago. While providing services to children and adults (victims of domestic violence & sexual assault), I did this with confidentiality and trauma informed approach and provided resources to help an individual reach their full resilient potential. Currently, I work as a human rights social worker with refugee and migrant children from all over the world, I am cultural competent and continue to practice trauma Informed approaches, provide safety and truly enjoy helping those who can’t help themselves. My focus as a sitter is to apply all my knowledge and build a welcoming, safe environment, and trustworthy report with the children I care for and their families. I will provide respectful, safe, fun and professional care to your child the same way I would want my own child to be cared for. I have over 7 years of professional childcare as a I worked with children in a shelter environment and swimming instructor. Along with over 10 years of experience caring for children within my family and close friends. My personal hobbies are swimming, being outdoor in nature, dancing, photography and maintaining physical activity like bike riding, gym, jogging and hikes. I can be flexible and work with you on the right schedule to meet your needs and ensure to follow any guidance you may have.
