My current nanny position is ending in early May, so I am currently seeking another part time position to begin after that time. I graduated from OSU with a bachelor's degree in social work, during which I took courses like developmental psychology, lifespan development, and foundations of family practice. I also have a current license in social work. My goal is to become a physician's assistant and I am currently taking coursework required to apply to PA programs. I am looking for a part time job while I complete this coursework and my first choice would be to nanny because I find working with kids fulfilling and fun. I have always loved being around children! I love helping them learn. I have experience working with children of all ages. I spent 3 years volunteering weekly as a cuddler in the Nationwide Neonatal Intensive Care Unit branch at Grant Medical Center, Read more where I held and soothed premature infants and infants with medical issues including withdrawal. I also spent a summer working as a lead teacher for Engineering for Kids, teaching educational camps to groups of 12-18 children ages 4-7 and 8-12. While in college, I spent three years as a mentor in College Mentors for Kids, doing weekly activities with a girl from one of the local elementary schools starting when she was 6 years old. For one of those years I served as transportation director and chaperoned the bus of 47 first thru fourth graders to and from the school and facilitated their pickup by approved adults. I am currently working as a nanny 24 hours a week for a family with a 1 year old and 4 year old. I began this position in early January and it will be ending in early May. I also have personal babysitting experience, primarily with family and friends of family. I have babysat for a family with two two-year old twins and a five year old daughter, as well as a family with two boys in elementary/middle school, multiple times. I have my own transportation, and a safe driving record. I am CPR-certified, I received Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers training and certification from the American Red Cross (this included CPR, AED, and choking aid for adults and infants). I am a very neat person and enjoy cleaning--I would be fine with adding some housekeeping duties on top of childcare for a job, provided that was reflected in my hourly rate. My schedule is fairly open as most of my coursework is online. However, I am not available to work full-time.
