Meet Kelly

I've lived in Burien for 15+ years. I worked for Hyatt Hotels in Seattle for 20 years but after covid I switched to Daycare work closer to home and now have 4 years of experience working with kids from Infants to Pre-schoolers. From guiding Circle Times, Crafts, Indoor/Outdoor games and activities, I have a lot of good experience and love working with children. Seeing that spark when they learn something new and are having fun is the most rewarding part of this work. I have current pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications and am taking STARS training and other courses through the WA State Merit / DCYF Website and Teaching Strategies application. I could show you my Course Certificates in Early Childhood Education. Besides experience from 2 local Daycares I also babysit for 2 local families and could provide references from them and from Daycare Co-Teachers as well. I'm energetic, Read more creative, responsible, respectful, attentive and really enjoy interacting with kids of all ages - yes to infants as well! I'm somewhat flexible with hours and would be willing to work from your house or mine, we could talk about it. I have lots of fun ideas and activities for the kids to do! I have tons of craft materials and project ideas (huge pinterest fan here!) as well as fun healthy snack ideas. I encourage playing with musical instruments, legos, roadways, doll houses - any building sets. I print fun learning activity worksheets for the kids and I like to get them up and active - jumping around and playing is always healthy! I love teaching kids about manners and good values too - making things to share with their parents is always nice. Listening to what the kids want to do and keeping them busy and learning while having fun is key. There are lots of ways to engage their interest while learning skills that will help them socially and with school work. Daycares have low enrollment now but it's the work I enjoy so I'm applying now with families.
