Hello there! My name is Phoebe Cross and I am an educator, animal lover, and nature enthusiast. I have worked as an outdoor educator, in classroom settings, as an after-school program facilitator, a tutor, and I have been babysitting children since I was in high school. I graduated with a degree in communications, but I have done additional schooling through the Institute of Humane Education (to study the intersection of social justice, environmental studies, and animal protection), and I am currently in the process of returning to school to study zoology. I love connecting with kids about the true magnificence and therapeutic effects of nature. My calling is to teach children ways we can protect nature and be stewards of our environment. I have been plant-based since 2018, in part because I love eating healthy, and because I care deeply about animals. Since 2021 I have volunteered at the Grand Read more Rapids Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, as a Salmon Steward with Stream Team, and this summer I will be volunteering with the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. My husband is a travel nurse, and we are traveling the continent in our converted school bus with our two dogs, cat and rabbit. Therefore, I have become pretty handy as well, and will not shy away from hard work. I care deeply about making the world a better place, and try my best to do so.
