Hello - I'm Marwah! I’m an educator, former Montessori pre-school teacher, nature enthusiast, and childcare provider. I have been educating and taking care of children of all ages for about 5 years, though my area of expertise is the toddler age (ages 2-4). My interests are birding, hiking, and reading. When babysitting, I like to engage children in their interests and spend time creating memories they can look back on fondly. Montessori philosophy guides my approach to caregiving (emphasis on child independence and respect for personhood). As a former Montessori preschool teacher, I helped students develop their gross and fine motor control, basic self care skills, and encouraged their creativity all while being led by their interests. I’m also a big believer in nature based play/learning. That means if child/parent are comfortable and weather isn’t hazardous, I like engaging young ones in age appropriate outdoor play. Note: I provide care for ALL families! I hope to build a partnership with parents that is safe, tolerant, and open. Certifications and expertise: infant and toddler CPR certification, experience in diabetes 1 management in toddlers, experience in successful toilet training. I am also fully vaccinated + boosted and am COVID conscious. I have taken my mandated reporter training in 2024 and have completed background checks when I worked in Chicago Public Schools as of 2024. In terms of availability, my ideal babysitting job would be on an as needed basis in the weekday evenings (after 5PM) and the weekend (timing is flexible).
