Hello! My name is Alexx De Araujo and I am a nursing major at SMC. A little about me, I started working in childcare like most girls do around 12 years old, babysitting for neighbors and parents in my church. I kept babysitting and eventually I started my own babysitting company with a few of my friends. We had uniforms, business cards, flyers, and by the time I decided to step away from the company and start working with my siblings at an aquatic center we had a client base of around 60-70 families with 32 employees (30 girls, and 2 boys). I love working with kids (especially babies) because I have plenty of patience, and I have a few sets of skills that I love to share with them. I was vocally trained in music for 6 years, I studied music theory, previously played trombone in school, and taught Read more myself the ukulele. In quarantine, I have started to study cello, Spanish, and found I am exceptional at training dogs. I have extensive experience with water safety and coaching competitive swimming in young age groups as well as teaching basic swim skills to all age groups (even adults!). I am triple certified in CPR and Red Cross First Aid training as well, it has expired in quarantine, but if you wish I get it updated I have no problem doing so. From age 15 to 18 I worked as a lifeguard, swim instructor, coach, and water aerobics teacher at William Woolet Jr. Aquatic Center. I love animals, I volunteer with animal shelters and raised foster puppy litters throughout high school. I currently have four dogs with my boyfriend, so pets are not a problem for me. For now, I am taking the winter semester off so I can focus on getting my realtor's license and I will start online courses again in February. I have a car as my own mode of transportation that is new to this year and up to date on all safety features. I have years of experience under my belt and strongly believe in the Montessori Method, I even attended Montessori preschool as a child.
