I fell in love with being a sitter when my sister started her family. Her girls are now 1 and 3 and a half years old, and I have spent so much time helping her with her girls, both while she's home and while she's away. Kids are so much fun, and it's a privilege to be involved in their lives as they learn how they want to be in this world. Sometimes a family just needs an extra person to entertain or clean up around the house, to give the parent staying at home a break. Other times, a parent or parents are working or need to take care of personal matters outside of the home, and need someone to be the primary caregiver while they are away.
