Hello! My name is Linda and I have a Master’s in Teaching Early Childhood through Sixth Grade (all core subjects & additional ESL certification). I have been working as a state licensed elementary teacher for 5 years, who has lovingly serviced kids of many ages, needs, and backgrounds. I have a friendly, professional, and fun personality that gets along well with kids of all ages. I’m professional but also a big kid myself who loves to share a passion for science, history, and reading. I enjoy spending time with children and felt this would be a great opportunity to offer my services during weekends, summer, and after school hours! As a professionally trained educator, I am state-background checked and finger printed to work in a public school for the state of Texas. I also am trained on providing social emotional care to children and often manage groups of up to Read more 35 or more kids at once. Just ask about my many additional certificates, like the science of teaching reading, that I’ve earned as an educator through ongoing professional development trainings! I can also provide light cleaning, laundry, pet care, homework and tutoring help. I specialize in teaching young students how to read, write and do math - let me know ahead of time, and I can arrange to bring tutoring materials upon request based on student needs. *I’m a very active person who will play and be active with your child, especially those with high energy! I can even do gentle yoga with the children if interested upon request. If you want someone to take your child(ren) on walks, bike rides, or excursions, please let me know! During the summer (June/July), I’ll have open availability throughout the week and weekends. In my spare time, I recently started a free blog & podcast to read classic and interesting texts out loud to children, to promote literacy, and to offer reading tips and articles for parents. I’m excited to share that with friends and family soon!
