I love being a sitter because I genuinely enjoy creating a safe, engaging, and positive environment where children can have fun, feel supported, and be themselves. I have several years of childcare and youth-program experience in roles including Head Counselor with Carmel Clay Parks and Recreation, Youth Program Coordinator/Lead Staff Coordinator with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Boone County Zionsville Unit, and Assistant Preschool Teacher with The Learning Experience in Westfield. Through these roles, I've supervised children across a range of ages from infant to middle school, led activities, supported routines, managed behavior calmly and effectively, and communicated closely with parents and guardians. I'm especially skilled at keeping kids engaged through creative play, crafts, games, music, and structured activities while also making sure they are safe, comfortable, and well cared for. My training includes CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, QPR (or Suicide Prevention) Certification, Stewards of Children training, and Verbal De-Escalation Read more Techniques Training through the Crisis Prevention Institute. To add to all of this, I am very skilled in organization, baking, cooking, meal preparation, the visual arts and crafts, the performing arts, certain athletics including volleyball, soccer, football, and gymnastics, and some music theory; and I am more than willing to facilitate and foster learning of these skills with children, and apply them to other household needs. I have experience with all types of personalities in kids, even through 4 younger siblings, and know that kids are the future, and need love, support, respect, creativity, and structure; and hope to bring that energy, fun, and safety-minded aspect into the care I provide!
