Warm greetings to you! My name is Maia Joy aka Cindy Oden, a 57-year-old mother of one son who is now 28 years old and in massage school out of state and he is also a brilliant musician and all around good human. Additionally, I am a recording musical artist, hence my stage name as Maia Joy, with three CDs and one song book! My music is inspired by and focuses on the beauty and divinity in all of life. I'm inspired by the beauty of nature and the goodness in all beings, with a conscious choice to focus on the goodness so as to bring it forth in others. Shortly after the birth of my son in 1997, I began working in child care centers with infants and toddlers. I continued in that field in child care centers, both in Colorado and in Virginia, once I moved here in Read more 2005. Additionally I've worked in health food stores, on several farms and in a little cafe in Waynesboro, as well as lighthouse keeping for people. I was a nanny for one family in Afton Virginia for over 4 years, with light cooking, housekeeping, juicing and childcare for two children, both now grown, balanced and healthy humans. I love working with the little ones and feel that I have a gift for it and I love singing to children, making up songs as I go, especially songs about the birds, the trees and God in nature! I am most impressed with Waldorf education and seek to embody the principles brought forth by Rudolf Steiner, the pioneer and creator of Waldorf education. Currently I am in a foundations course in Waldorf education with the Sophia Institute in Washington State. I have been in hiatus from it because of caring for my 85-year-old mother out of state but will be returning to that in May when I will be again studying the writings of Rudolf Steiner. Additionally, I have attended an online early childhood education course through Sophia's Hearth, out of New Hampshire, a course focused on early childhood development, ages 0 through 3. I've been out of child care for about 10 years, having gained some healthy life experience with my happy marriage of over 15 years and the ongoing lessons learned from the ups and downs of life, I feel ready to return to child care with the gifts and wisdom I have gathered along the way. We have recently bought a home in Waynesboro near Ridgeview Park, having also recently sold our homestead in Nelson County. Thank you for reading my profile 💗 Blessings!
