I’ve loved being around kids for as long as I can remember. I started babysitting my neighbors’ kids when I was a preteen, and over the years I’ve had the joy of helping care for my nieces and nephews, including when they were newborns. I may not have been blessed with children of my own, but I have my fur babies and a whole lot of love to give! My family is now spread all across the country, so I’m missing out on so many of those everyday moments and milestones. Being able to spend time with a family and their little ones brings me so much joy and makes me feel a little less far from home. I’m the aunt they call when they need homework help, or the one they FaceTime to read a bedtime story. I love being that person kids know they can count on. I’ve Read more helped with newborns and little ones, and I’m comfortable with the everyday things that come with caring for kids - keeping them entertained, helping with routines, preparing simple meals or snacks, reading stories, helping with homework, and of course, lots of playtime! I’m naturally nurturing and patient, and I really enjoy getting to know each child and learning what makes them smile. I understand that every child and family is different, so I’m happy to follow the routines and parenting styles that work best for each family. I’m CPR and First Aid trained, and safety is something I take seriously. I’m also my office’s designated Fire Warden for my 9-to-5, which basically means that when the alarm goes off, I’m the person who has to make sure everyone gets out safely - so apparently I’ve been trusted with keeping people from doing anything too chaotic. I’m patient, caring, responsible, and dependable, and I’m great at keeping kids entertained while making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and heard. I’m happy to get down on the floor and play, get creative with activities, help with homework, read bedtime stories, or join in on a silly dance party when the moment calls for it! Most importantly, I bring a calm, nurturing attitude and treat every child with the same care and attention I would want for my own family.
